Dealing with the First Job Jitters
I recently graduated from college and on my first job interview, I was immediately hired by a great company! In this economy, there is no guarantee that a college graduate will get a job and so I am very grateful for this opportunity. I start next week but they want me to come in and get my ID and name lanyard so that I will have it on the first day. The job is in Washington D.C. and the company has stressed that security is extremely important. They want all employees to wear their IDs on their company lanyards at all times. This reminds me of my college orientation, when I had to go and get my picture taken for my school ID. I can’t wait to get started at the office and meet all my co-workers. I hope I do a good job and they feel justified in hiring me right on the spot!

Question: How should I look for meaning of life? I am a 32 year old male, an immigrant but pretty “domesticated”. I don’t like my job. It pays nickles and dimes and I am not completely happy in my relationship do not connect on a physical level. I have a kid of my own. He lives with his dad in another state though but I see him whenever I want to. But I have developed some kind of bitterness in life. Is this because of a failed marriage? Or maybe because I tried applying for those graduate scholarships for women and all of them turned me down?
Answer: First, determine what are your needs are. For example, physical needs are finding a job or establishing a home. Second, see what skills and talents you have and which you must develop. Third, see what is the most thing that you feel passionate about. It could be something you do from your full heart even if you’re not paid to do it. Fourth, start developing a spiritual view, not nessecarly religiously, but about your existence and sense of purpose.
